Over de school
 
English Sunny School of Cyprus werd opgericht in 2000 en was de eerste internationale zomerschool op Cyprus. Onze school biedt al 17 jaar lang geweldig Engels onderwijs aan internationale studenten op Cyprus. Bovendien is The English Sunny School of Cyprus een internationale afdeling voor buitenlandse studenten van Xenia Tsolaki Metaxa Private Institute, goedgekeurd door de Cypriotische toeristenorganisatie en geaccrediteerd door de ELSAC-vereniging.
Alle moedertaalsprekende Engelstalige docenten zijn volledig gekwalificeerd en hebben veel ervaring met het geven van cursussen met gemengde nationaliteit. Ze kunnen ten volle profiteren van het interculturele potentieel van hun studenten en ze moedigen samenwerking en communicatie aan. De nationaliteiten zijn gemengd, zodat de interactie in de les altijd in het Engels is. Het idee van school is gebaseerd op het concept dat lessen leuk en interessant zijn maar ook dynamisch en leerzaam.

Locatie:

Sinds 2015 geven we lessen in ons nieuwe schoolgebouw. De school is maximaal 15 minuten lopen van de studentenhuisvesting. Tieners lopen samen naar school, maar jonge studenten krijgen vervoer. Naast het schoolterrein is er een winkel met snacks. Het strand ligt op slechts 5 minuten afstand.

Klaslokalen

De klaslokalen zijn allemaal voorzien van airconditioning en hebben toegang tot wifi. Studenten worden vaak gevraagd om hun eigen projecten en presentatie in groepen te maken om hun teamworkvaardigheden op te bouwen.
Volwassenen krijgen les in groepen van maximaal 12 studenten, jonge studenten van 6-11 jaar krijgen les in minigroepen van 4-8 studenten. Bij tieners zijn er 11-15 studenten per klas.

Welkomstpakket

Studenten krijgen notebooks en pennen van ons bedrijf voor het maken van aantekeningen in de klas en met werkbladen voor activiteiten die in bestanden worden geplaatst. Elke leerling heeft dus zijn eigen persoonlijke verslag van zijn verblijf op school.

De eerste en laatste dag

Studenten nemen kort na hun aankomst een plaatsingstest af en worden ingedeeld in klassen op basis van hun niveau. Alle studenten leggen aan het einde van hun verblijf een toets af en ontvangen een certificaat met hun onderwijsgraad.

Rooster

Ochtendlessen voor junioren, tieners en volwassenen: 20 lessen per week van 50 minuten (niet 45 zoals veel andere scholen, dus studenten hebben 100 minuten extra per week!)
Van 9:00 uur tot 12:50 uur met 2 pauzes.

School locatie

De accommodaties voor studenten liggen op slechts een paar minuten van het strand, dus studenten kunnen gemakkelijk een frisse duik nemen, strandactiviteiten doen en een bezoek brengen aan het watersportcentrum. De locatie is een door een familie gerund hotel met vriendelijk personeel, uitgerust volgens de normen van een typisch Britse kostschool. Dicht bij het hotel is er een grote verscheidenheid aan winkels, coffeeshops, bars en restaurants, evenals de immer populaire ijs- en yoghurtijswinkels.
De school ligt aan de belangrijkste busroute naar de oude stad en naar het winkelcentrum. In de omgeving is er een mooie wandelpromenade en een fietspad die helemaal langs de kust tot aan de jachthaven loopt. Het is een fantastische plek om een lange wandeling langs de kust te maken om onvergetelijke foto's te maken.

The lessons were intense, progressive and adapted to my needs.

I regret not having had the opportunity to take a group course.: This would have allowed me other exchanges.
Difficulty to immerse in Limassol because the Russian language is too present.

Thanks to the school it was possible tin the afternoon to do kite surfing for me pleasure.

THE ESSC CAMPUS

The ESSC campus is located in the Moniatis Hotel,

which is situated in a beautiful area of Limassol, close to the Yermasoyia Dam and river. It is in a quiet, residential area of Yermasoyia with a wide variety of amenities nearby – local supermarket, bakery, restaurants, coffee shop, pharmacy and mini football fields. It is a family owned and run hotel and the staff are intent on providing the best service that this 3 star accommodation can offer.

ROOMS

The rooms are twin and triple with comfortable extra beds. In the hotel, there are 4 family rooms which have one bedroom, a living room, one bathroom and 2 toilets so they can accommodate up to 4 students. All rooms have air-conditioning and a balcony. The hotel has two floors with access between floors by stairs or lift. Single rooms are available on request for an extra charge.

PUBLIC AREAS

The reception area is staffed 24/7 and there is a snack bar which serves drink and snacks throughout the day. Outside, there is the hotel swimming pool and a small paddling pool for young children. Around the pool there is an area for sun bathing and a large green area for games and relaxing.

MEALS

Students eat their breakfast and evening meal at the hotel. They have a hot lunch at the school from Monday to Friday, after classes and before the start of the afternoon activities. During the excursions, they will be provided with a packed lunch and on Sunday lunch will be served at the hotel.

For breakfast there is a typical English buffet with bacon, sausage, eggs, mushrooms, baked beans, bread, yogurt, butter, marmalade, halloumi, cheese, ham and turkey as well as other hot and cold food and drinks.

Supper is a buffet service and there is a wide variety of international and local dishes. There are salads, 3 main courses (meat and fish) with 3 accompanying dishes and a sweet dessert or fresh fruits.

Special diets can be catered for by requesting at the time of booking and also by contacting our staff in resort.

It is located in the tourist area, right on the sandy beach, just 3 km away
from Limassol old town. Close to the hotel you can find shops, cafes and
restaurants as well as a volleyball and basketball court.

The 2-3-4-bedded rooms all have a balcony, bathroom, air-conditioning
and satellite TV. The rooms are well-equipped and tastefully decorated.
Some rooms also enjoy a sea view. Twin rooms and single rooms may be
available on request - with a supplement.
Meals:
